Job Description

The internship starts in February/March 2023, and is for a period of 6 or more months.

The Global Travel & Expense team is responsible for the design, maintenance and operational execution of the global processes in the areas related to JDE’s worldwide corporate travel and business expenses. This includes a variety of subprocesses such as; Travel Booking (via our travel agency and/or online), Meeting planning, Corporate cards & Payment process, Expense report process and other. The team’s core focus is to improve efficiency, drive user satisfaction and decrease cost end to end across these areas.

The team defines the company wide strategy and approach on business travel & expenses and forms action plans based on this. It closely works with external service and technology suppliers to execute these plans. The team is responsible for training content, user guides and other forms of documentation and communication in order to ensure JDE internal employees are equipped with the tools and knowledge they need.

The team falls under the Global Transactional Finance team and are part of the Global Group Control team and operates out of the Netherlands, with stakeholders across all levels and locations in the organisation.

During your internship, you will be responsible for:

  • supporting the Global Travel & Expense team in an international environment;
  • taking charge of analysing and auditing business expenses across countries;
  • participating in creating process improvement plans in all the area’s in which the team operates;
  • autonomously working on a project assigned to you.

Do you fulfil the following requirements?

  • Student enrolled in a Bachelor or Master program at a University looking for an internship or project (graduation projects can be discussed)
  • Bachelor / MSc program in Business Administration, Business Economics or equivalent
  • Enthusiastic and pro-active
  • Pragmatic
  • Driven and result-oriented: you want to make things happen
  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken)
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.

Important: To be considered as a candidate for this internship,

  • EU/EEA students: you need to be enrolled at a University for the whole duration of the internship and this needs to be a mandatory part of your study curriculum. In case of voluntarily internship purpose, a tri-parties agreement may be requested to be signed by you and your university.
  • Non-EU/EEA students: you need to be enrolled at a Dutch University and your university needs to sign the Nuffic Agreement. The internship needs to be a compulsory part of your studies (eg, receive ECTS in turn).

Internship Allowance

  • Based on a fulltime 40 hour workweek, the monthly internship allowance is € 450,- for a HBO student or € 500,- for a WO student, additionally, you will get paid leave on the basis of 1 day per month.
  • Monthly Commuting allowance:
    • In principle, you will be using your student public transportation card (student OV-chipcard /studentenreisproduct) for daily commuting.
    • If you are not eligible for the student OV-chipcard, JDE offers a commuting allowance. Compensation for commuting expenses, starting from a minimum distance of 5 kilometers one way, up to a maximum of:
      • 35 kilometers à € 19ct per km (according to the temporary arrangement) when travelling by own transportation;
      • 45 kilometers (max. € 294.50 based on public transport fees) per month for travel by public transportation.
    • Should you relocate to the city of your based office (Amsterdam or Utrecht), you will receive a monthly relocation compensation of up to a maximum of € 175. In this case, the commuting allowance will be not applicable. Please do keep in mind that we do not offer relocation and/or accommodation benefits for students coming from abroad.
