Quality Specialist

This is a great story to tell! Our current Quality Specialist has just been promoted. So we’re ready to seek our next rising star!
Our Quality Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with food safety and quality systems in the Auckland factory (East Tamaki). This includes performing and managing internal audits, training and facilitating Production and Operations teams in root cause analysis and continuous improvement, development and review of the quality management system, coordinating sensory evaluation and product and environmental testing.
We want someone who can manage their own day, someone who enjoys being in a production environment and someone who has a huge LOVE of caffeine!
In this permanent full time role you will focus on:
- Day-to-day compliance & reporting in line with food safety and quality systems
- Document control including drafting, reviewing, implementation and training of SOP’s, procedures, forms etc.
- Management and investigation of all non-conformances and consumer complaints, including root cause analysis and preventative and corrective actions
- Sensory evaluation of tea and coffee and - blends, stability, shelf life etc.
- Training and coaching team mates

To be the best Quality Specialist; we’re looking for someone who has the following skills and experience:
- Tertiary Qualifications in Food Science, Food Technology, Science, Quality or related subjects
- Approx. 5 years’ experience working in a Quality role within Food or Pharmaceutical industries
- Experience with HACCP management
- Experience with Quality auditing
- Ability to co-ordinate own priorities with the conflicting priorities of others, self-manage time, work under pressure, multi-task and meet deadlines
- Experience and knowledge of FSSC 22000 would be an advantage
There’s only one catch with this role – due the nature of the work, you will need to refrain from wearing fragrances, make up, nail polish etc.
