Global Accounting & Reporting Specialist (SAP BPC)

Job Description

The Global Accounting & Reporting Specialist, based in Amsterdam, is co-responsible for managing and executing the group’s consolidation and global reporting processes with regards to the SAP BPC consolidation and reporting tool. This tool is the beating heart of JDE Peet’s’ global financial reporting for monthly actuals, forecasts and the annual budget cycle.

Working closely with the Global Accounting & Reporting team, you will be one of the go-to person for financial and non-financial questions during reporting cycles, such as the monthly closing process, of the approx. 300 reporting entities around the globe by providing central support to the various countries and global functions on the reporting processes executed in SAP BPC.

Additionally, you will be one of the administrators of the SAP BPC consolidation tool, assisting in the maintenance and development of the well-established and efficient processes built in SAP BPC, while also seeking areas for improvement.

Being the link between the Finance function and Financial Systems environment, your main focus will be towards the accounting and reporting aspects, however, the understanding and interest in developing knowledge on processes and reporting systems are essential to succeed in this area.

The role includes the support of the reporting towards the Dutch Central Bank (DNB) and Central Statistics Office (CBS).

You will report to the Global Accounting & Reporting Director.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Controlling or Finance; Master’s degree preferred
  • 2-5 years of professional accounting and reporting or relevant experience in a multi-cultural environment with cross-functional teams
  • Affinity with IT and financial / reporting systems
  • Experience with consolidation; SAP BPC experience is considered advantageous
  • Knowledge of multi-entity, multi-dimensional and multi-currency consolidation highly preferred
  • Very good command of English (both written and verbal)
  • Flexible attitude in working outside office hours

Additional Information

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Closely collaboration with local finance teams, coaching, and supporting the local finance teams with financial data submission in SAP BPC, while safeguarding the high standards in terms of reported data quality and accuracy
  • Executing the consolidation of accounts, with direct involvement in various corporate reporting processes such as booking of corporate adjustments, eliminations and analysing intercompany balances
  • Acting as the primary contact for multiple global, local stakeholders and also custodians regarding requests on data reported in the global consolidation tool
  • Performing regular SAP BPC maintenance tasks while identifying possibilities for improvements within the consolidation process; managing in-house ad-hoc projects for optimisation based on business requirements
  • Continuously monitoring performance of the tool being ready to react accordingly to face any issue that could put in risk the stability of group’s reporting environment
  • Understanding the flow of financial and managerial data from the source to the multi-dimensional consolidated model according to JDE Peet’s’ reporting standards and requirements and being able to follow the data path to identify inconsistencies in reporting and deviations from reporting guidelines
  • With the increased attention to non-financial (ESG) data, support in embedding robust processes to have these reported
